Can you all believe it, looking at the calendar, we're heading straight into June 2010...A lot has been going on lately, so let me just fill you in in the some of the major news:
Many of you have been following the various updates on the server/host issues both Digiridoo Scraps and Divine Digital have experienced, along with many other digi scrap pages. The light at the end of the tunnel is getting close though. The site owners and design teams have been working tirelessly, and I can tell you there is so much beauty coming up in both stores soon again, you are simply going to love it!! Designer's Collabs, participation prizes and so much more is waiting for you on the other side. Get ready for hours of scrapping fun to come :)

Personally, I've had very busy and stressful weeks and months for many reasons. We've just put our house on the market, that went along with hours, days, weeks of preparations etc., and we stored some of our belongings for staging purposes. Some of my graphics got lost during the server issues, and once the stores are coming back up, some of my designs won't be available for a while since I don't have them on my hard drives or external drive at this time. I'll also be travelling again in June. Following that, I'll be trying to get things back into full swing, and certainly will have some great sales going on too.

It's been quiet

Hello Everyone,
It's been a bit quiet here lately - for a reason. Many of you already know, but for those that missed it: my wonderful, loving and caring Dad suddenly became seriously ill in January, and passed away within a little over 4 weeks. We're trying to cope with the pain of his loss, but are also grateful that he didn't have to suffer longer. To all of you who kept us in your thoughts and prayers, my deepest thanks, it truly has meant a lot!

Designing and creating is a source of strength and energy, and in so far quite therapeutical, and thus I did manage to participate in a few collabs over the past weeks, and have been working on a brand new, fresh and exciting Spring Scrapkit. It'll be released soon, and come with a gorgeous Bonus - so stay tuned y'all! :)

Just wanted to keep you all in the loop about the latest news we're getting from Divine Digital. I was so excited to see that Divine's main page at divinedigital.com actually is back with the skin already! :) The plans are to have the main page, forum, and gallery accessible again by Saturday, wouldn't that be great!

Over the past month I have decided to take on some additional design commitments, and to spread my creative wings. In the coming weeks I will be adding my products to two new stores, so there is a lot to celebrate for us all in November! :)

A brief look at my office wall tells me November is just around the corner, wow, the year sure has flown by! There is something crisp, clear, fresh about the coming winter - and yet November tends to be dark and gloomy, too. I wanted to combine these sentiments and just released my newest scrapkit Gloomy November, with rich textures, subtle and dark as well as vivid colors. You'll find a total of 22 gorgeouosly textured papers and 50 elements in this fantastic kit that'll be versatile and fun to work with - not only in the winter time! :)

Calibrize your monitor

I recently got a new laptop, and still had to calibrize the monitor. If you're working with graphics and photos, this is definitely something you need to consider! If you've never done it, you'll find there are many ways and options out there, some more or less confusing. Here's one of the many tools out there that'll do the job perfectly and for free for you if you're either on a Vista or XP machine, Calibrize 2.0.

Great Font Organizer

There are some great font organizers or viewers out there, many of which you're probably familiar with or use already. Here's a new browser based font viewer that comes with a set of very useful features - maybe it'll become one of your new favorite tools, too?!

Highlights include comparing all of your installed fonts, organizing your fontbook using tags, a gylphs view allowing you to quickly scan characters and symbols, and the font metrics view displays guides to show default kerning, text baseline, and median height.

There is also a youtube tutorial available, what more could you ask for?! :)

Yes, would you believe it, it didn't take me a month to post again, I'm certainly improving, am I not?! :D

Anyways, I wanted to share something that I'm sure you'll enjoy and might find useful for your blogger or blogspot blogs. Together with her two siblings, Emily has set up a wonderful new resource to decorate your Basic Blogger Minima templates for FREE! You'll find her beautiful creations at Blog Cargo. It is a very well organized page that also offers some assistance, so check it out! :)

But - (as they always say on these TV commercials...) wait that's not all, Emily is also an author and recently published her mystery 'Only angels are bulletproof'. So that might be something you're interested in as well. You can check out all about that on her blog.

The latest news

Well hello Everyone!!! It has been awfully quiet around here these past weeks - but that is only true for the blog ;) Lots has been happening, let me fill you in some of the major events: In late May dear friends from Germany were visiting, we spent a great week at the beach in Florida together. Late in June up until July we were on yet another trip, hopping over the big ocean to good old Europe, staying in the UK and Germany. I swear a travelling scrapkit is overdue, don't you agree, LOL!

In the meantime, the biggest difference you may notice here on the blog is a little bit of a facelift that kept me heavily in its grip for the past week or so. That's another thing that was overdue for various reasons. One of them was the increasing 'code-clutter' within my previous template. I'm telling you it was like opening a junk drawer and important things were nowhere to be found, 'best case' was they fell right at ya LOL! Anyways, this time I went from scratch, working my way up from 'Minima' to what I found suitable. And - I kept it mostly clutterfree, which will definitely help with all kinds of future changes and additions. Oh how much time I spent looking to make the right changes to the CSS and div code etc - but enough of that, don't want to bore you to tears.
So anyways, now I'm basically done, with just some minor changes happening here and there over the following days. Feels like a huge relief on my site errrm side ;)

It's a Spring Thing

Can you all believe it - we're already well into the first week of March...! I guess it's time to get ready for all the gorgeous weeks of spring that are hopefully right around the corner soon. We're expecting a beautiful spring weekend here in Georgia with temperatures in the higher 70s, and that about 5 days after we've had some 1-2 inches of snow for a couple hours last Sunday. Yes, here in Georgia you just never know in the winter time! ;)

I hope everyone is slowly but surely getting into the spirit of the holiday season, not getting too cold, and enjoying the wintry weather. We don't get much of that here in the South, but I do remember many gorgeous winters from the majority of years I spent in a much cooler climate.

In between working on my latest ElisasBits Designs, one of which I just recently uploaded to my Divine Boutique, I've been working on a little Christmas gift for you all, a page utilizing one of my "Stars 'n Swirls Overlays". Lighting a candle Layout

Once I had finished working on my latest design "Luscious Tale", I remembered a photo I took of our son in November 2001 that just seemed to be a great fit for the looks and feel of the design. Our son always enjoyed lighting candles with matches, couldn't get enough of it LOL! The photo is so interesting for its motion blur that happened by chance, noticable on the candles' flame. Hope you'll enjoy framing your memories as well, and as always, I love to see your layout creations! :)

Sharing Layouts

While I'm busy working on new designs, and keeping up with all the little and big challenges of our daily routines, today I'd like to share some of my most recent Layouts with you all.

Most elements and backgrounds used are from my newest Digital Scrapkit "Plumsy", with the exception of 'I can See Clearly'. While most elements utilized are from "Plumsy" also, I additionally did a little bit of mixing and matching of various of other ElisasBits Designs, all available in my Divine Boutique.

In "Remembering" I've been scrapping some memories of my mom's college years in the 50s:

And my personal favorite (as always :D), is of course our darling son, starring here in 'I can See Clearly'. He recently noticed how blurry things were getting at the board during his classes, resulting in him getting his first set of glasses. Isn't he adorable! :)

It sure has been somewhat crazyly busy here lately, after the clean-up of the damaged roof, chimney and so on. By now we are happy to report that we're having a new roof, the chimney is nearly readily rebuilt, and all the other little things are well on their way, too. Turning Seasons

It seems somewhat strange to think that I had been working on a fall and leaves related theme for my newest Digital Scrapkit 'Turning Seasons', when yesterday, we experienced the force of weather first hand, having trees falling on our home...

Thank you all so much for your kind notes and thoughts! We had a wonderful team of hard working contractors working on the clean up, and by last night around 5.30pm our power was turned back on, and apart from the chimney bascially gone, the roof and skylights damaged, and a big blue tarp covering parts of the top of our home, things seem nearly normal again. We sure are thankful that it wasn't worse, that none of us was hurt - and looking forward to the insurance accepting the claim, and repairs and rebuilding to hopefully begin early next week.

Let us however rather turn to and enjoy the beauty of fall approaching, the leaves getting ready to turn from plain greens into rusty, brown, orange tones, that'll color our neighborhoods in brandnew shades once again. So for all your upcoming fall photography I hope to bring a lot of cheer with my Scrapkit 'Turning Seasons', now on Sale in my Divine Boutique.

Trees fell on our home...

This morning at 07.45am trees fell on our house - the tree removal service we contacted shortly after said it's probably four trees... Luckily, none of us got hurt, and the roof is hardly leaking to the inside (so far). Lots going on here, just wanted to share the photos I took this morning after the first shock was wearing off.
We'll be without power, internet, soon, the trees are also hanging over those lines. Hope it'll all go smoothly, keep us in your thoughts...
Should have a new scrapkit out soon, was planning on doing that today, but that might wait a while....

I came across a web page called 'Yearbook Yourself'. You take one of your headshot photos and upload it into the years 1950-2000 - with all those funny hair styles, I guarantee you a big laugh. It is possible to do this with both male and female photos. One of my best friends in Germany, an extremely creative gentleman by the name of Stefan, has been creating a couple of gorgeous Layouts of my Scrapkits 'Fresh and Fun' and 'Midsummer Blues', that I simply had to share with you all on the blog. He's been framing some memories of a vacation in Mallorca, Spain and in Munich, Germany. Maybe it'll give you some great ideas on how to work with the kits, too. Leave him some love :)

What a great (even though terribly busy) week this has been! Yes! It's Thursday, we're all ready to jump right into the weekend tomorrow, aren't we?! Photoshop Flowery Styles

While the bad news is that I can't offer you all a weekend digital scrapkit freebie (yet ;)), I do have a beautiful handy little tool available for download - as always for a limited time only - A Photoshop Flowery Style. The best part is: this Freebie Style comes with both a Commercial Use and Personal Use License. Hope you all enjoy and have lots of digi scrapping flowery fun!

This Style has been tested and works with Adobe Photoshop CS3 and Adobe Photoshop Elements 6.0 (most likely with earlier versions, too).

Recently I have been tagged by two sweet ladies, Kris and Sue, it's just been so busy here lately that I haven't found the time to answer the tag calls - plus I'm sorry to say that I'd probably make No. 1 on the list of 'The Anti Tagger'... ;)

1. May has to be one of my favorite months of the year (right followed by September)

Yes, I'm back home already, time sure flies when you're having fun...! One Cozy Afternoon

Before heading off to our vacation (yessss finally! :D :D) we've had a busy, busy week - and as I'm typing no suitcases are packed yet, and we're in the middle of a bathroom renovation... But we're getting to the packing this afternoon, which probably will be anything but cozy. ;)

Here's today's Elisa's Bits Freebie, a 'Melange' of colors and textures. I've been mixing up fun colors, elements, patterns, and textures to hopefully bring you a blast digi scrapping various layouts. :)
I had so much fun playing with the various 'materials': the backgrounds being denim textured, a focus on chrome wired elements, and vibrant colors throughout. One of the two large swirlies is filled with textures, the other sort of glassy, a bit transparent, I really fell in love with those. Hope you'll enjoy them, too :)

Trash to Treasure

The past week has been truly busy here, and I didn't get much of a chance to design or post, but on this beautiful, sunny spring morning I'm back with some news and a Freebie to add to your Elisa's Bits collection :)

First of all, I wanted to shortly share that I had a birthday not too long ago, and my darling husband, as well as my friends and family had a lot of sweet surprises prepared making the day so special and memorable, and I felt truly blessed, even though at the same time dealing with this big change in numbers starting with that particular day. I'm not going into detail... ;) Let's just say, take a look at the delicious, super cute cake my hubby surprised me with, and you'll notice.

And, my DH had another wonderful, generous gift for my birthday, he gave me a Bamboo Fun Medium Graphics Tablet. Oh joy!!!! :)

As the name suggests, it is a fun, great 'toy' for creating all sorts of graphics where the sky is basically the limit. If you're thinking about purchasing a tablet, I highly recommend one of Wacom's product line, they are simply the best!

So, that were all the wonderful birthday news I wanted to share with you all. And, here comes the information about the newest Elisa's Bits Freebie up for grabs now. As the name suggests, the 'Trash to Treasure' Scrapkit was 'born' utilizing some graphics, bits and pieces that I had already started to design but never added to a kit, or, there were kits where I had planned to include some of these graphics but never did for one reason or another. Instead of mixing the graphics into new kits from time to time (which I occasionally also like to do), I thought why not simply make a whole new kit out of 'leftover graphics'?! So here's the result... :)

Oceanic Sentience

Very soon, we'll be spending some time at my favorite spot at the ocean in Florida once again, and while I'm getting some 'pre-vacational' feelings, I guess my designing mood is slowly but surely leaning towards oceanic colors and themes. We've been enjoying some gorgeous pre-spring days in the beautiful Southeast these past days - being spoiled with sunshine, temperatures in the high 60s or low 70s, and just the perfectly blue skies. I hope that wherever you are, spring will be knocking at your doors soon as well, it sure is one of my most favorite seasons! :)
So, it may not come as the biggest surprise that I was in a "springy feeling" when designing the latest Elisa's Bits Freebie "Blooms and Bling". I enjoyed combining the sligthly grungy papers and some of the elements with the tiny jewels, and hope there'll be many occasions for you to digi scrap with the kit! Doodle Feast

Today you can stock up on your browns, blues, and cream shade elements that I chose to combine with cardboard effects in this newest Scrapkit 'Doodle Feast'.

My most favorite vacation spots have always been close to an Ocean, I love the sea, and need a fix of air, breeze, and waves ever so often.

Vibrant Fun

Can anyone believe it's already Friday again? I know it, me neither...! You wouldn't believe that I started out working on a green design to begin with - but somehow got side tracked and ended up with something completely different.... So, whoever may be waiting for something on the greener side, hang in there, it'll happen eventually! ;)

Anyways, to brighten up possible grey winter days, I've been working on some vibrant color designs that'll hopefully bring lots of fun to your upcoming digi scrapping projects this weekend and beyond, thus calling my newest Freebie 'Vibrant Fun'. Grungy Charme

The past weekend was rather rainy and stormy here - I know weather news will probably only bore almost everyone, however, what that means is: I had a lot of time playing in the house with my designs and graphics. Ahhhh, now that sounds much more interesting, doesn't it?! ;)
Anyways, while I was working on 'Casual Blend', I already had the idea for today's Freebie in mind or it developped around the same time. Sometimes you're working on one thing and another idea is so to speak born at the same time, too. So, here is the newest Elisa's Bits Freebie that I named 'Grungy Charme', and I have to say it is one of my most favorite designs as of lately.
